Default A career within the industry...

This question has probably been asked 1,000 times and more, I'd really love to pursue a career within the gaming industry. My first choice would be writing. I adore writing and feel it is a strength of mine. I already write for a website, reviewing games which is practice.

My query is regarding script writing and character outlines within the industry. How would one go about pursuing this sort of career? I'm starting University next year, I'm still undecided on what course to study. I've been looking at a Creative and Professional writing course, as I've read this can be helpful when pursuing this sort of career. Is this true?

Any information I could obtain would be extremely useful!

Many thanks,
Hannah

That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Where it breaks down various sections. Thank you so much for the help!

I really do appreciate it. I'm currently studying a Humanities course at college. This allows me to study a wide range of subjects at University. This creative and professional writing course I researched is one of those courses. I just needed to research future careers from it before taking the plunge!

I am a writer in all aspects. I have never considered the gaming industry as an option to use my talents in. I am pretty open to writing on various topics as long as I can be descriptive and creative, so gaming is getting my attention now that I'm reading some comments from others. What are some of my options? How does one get into writing for gaming?
