Default The Artery Podcast - For Students of the Game Industry

Hello everyone, I'm here to post about a new podcast that I've started up. I'm not too sure if this is the right place to put it, so please shuffle it around where appropriate.

This podcast is dedicated to help students by interviewing industry people from Vancouver studios. We talk about how they gone through education all the way to their first job, and we also take some insight in discussing interesting industry or development topics. I thought you guys would like to hear about it because I think it'll be useful for the community.

---------
Episode 1

The Artery Podcast debuts with a single aspiring goal: to help you, the students of the game industry, get a little more information from your fellow talents. Every show will have a special guest from Vancouver's pool of industry experienced to tell you how they got through the door and into game development.

Jerry Wong takes the reigns of the show as host with his fellow man, Ryan Arndt, our audio guru, and the special guest, Victor Cameron. Victor gets in deep about how important it is to utilize every tool to get that coveted first job, and he talks about his first hand experience of making luck work for him coming out of school.

For those who aren't students, tune in for the discussion about the Game Developers Convention Canada 2010. We reminisce about our experience being there, our favourite moments, and what we hope to see in the future GDC Canada.[/quote]

Thanks Llama. I really hope to pick up a lot of student listeners. I'm not sure if any Gamasutra folks look at threads, but I hope to work with them and hopefully reach more places.

I did send an email, but no dice.

Anyways, here's a new episode. A very good one too.

Episode 5 - Tom Johnson

It's a two-man show with special guest, Tom Johnson. Tom is a 15 year Digital and Concept artist that's worked on movies like Batman Forever, Fifth Element, Final Fantasy, and then got into the game industry working on SSX, Need for Speed, Fifa, and Skate. So tune in and listen to a life story of an artist and pick up some tricks of the trade from an experienced veteran.
