Not sure if there are any students here who are going to enter the Independent Games Festival this year (http://www.igf.com), but wanted feedback on what entry deadlines actually make sense to your folks - September? October? November?

my rule of thumb is that the more time we have the better our game will be, as long as we have set deadlines. if anything is up in the air, that's usually a problem. My group seams to be very good at crunching out good product in short spans so give us an inch and we will take a mile. Give us a mile and we will take the world
