Ludwigsburg Institute Accepting Applications for Technical Director Graduate Program

 The Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction in Ludwigsburg, Germany, is accepting applications for its English-language two-year graduate training program for aspiring technical directors.
The Institute's technical director training program allows computer science graduates to combine their previous technical knowledge with a new body of artistic work. Enrolled students will work on film projects and in production teams, and will learn how to design setups and rigs and work with expressions and scripts.
Accepted graduates will also acquire experience in lighting, shading, rendering, textures and effects. Class activities include programming tools and plug-ins and automating animation and other processes.
The program is open to computer science graduates who hold at least an intermediate diploma or a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related studies. Applicants must be fluent in the English language, and must demonstrate interest in the media industry with letters of recommendation or work samples.
The Institute of Animation is a state-funded school. Students are only required to pay an administrative fee to attend. The application deadline for the Institute's technical director training program is May 15th, 2010.
