  • Vassar College Hosts Development-Oriented Summer Camp

    [07.02.09]
  • iD Tech Camps is hosting a series of game design courses at Vassar College over the summer months. The program allows students between the ages of seven and 17 to study the basics of game design and program their own digital media creations.

The program's "Adventures in Game Design" and "Create Your Own Adventure" courses enable students between seven and ten years of age to experiment with creation elements in commercial titles like Spore: Creature Creator.

For older students, "Game Creation: Arcade & Platform" equips participants with the tools necessary to create 2D games. A series of "3D Game Design" courses cover role-playing games, first-person shooters, and game creation using Epic's Unreal Engine 3.

The summer program also contains courses in game modding, modeling, professional gaming, programming, and web and graphic design.

All courses will continue in multiple sessions until the end of this month. Registration for current classes will remain open until all positions are filled.
