  • 3D Game Programming All in One Second Edition Book Released

    [11.15.06]
  • Course PTR has announced the release of the second edition of 3D Game Programming All in One, intended to provide a comprehensive guide for aspiring game developers, particularly students, hobbyists, or professionals interested in learning the skills and processes involved in making games.

The new edition updates the original coverage with the latest version of the game engine Torque from GarageGames, and provides tools available to the Indie game maker. Along with technical skills behind 3D programming, the book also provides practical experience needed for creating games.

All source code, tools, and other resources needed to complete the exercises in the book, as well as the Torque game engine, are included on the accompanying CD-ROM.

Author Kenneth Finney worked on the book while starting development on the new and unique TubettiWorld Action/Adventure game using the Torque Game Engine. He is the Principal Software Engineer at Wilkes Associates, Inc. in the Greater Toronto Area. He also is an Associate Professor at Seneca College at York University in Toronto, helping technical writers learn how to survive in a software development environment. Finney is the creator of the popular Tubettiland 'Online Campaign' Mod and the 'QuicknDirty' game management tools for Novalogic's Delta Force 2 game series.

For more information, interested parties can visit the Course PTR website.
