Default Need some experienced counselling regarding studies please

Hello

I am currently in my high school studies which will soon be over by march 2008.
I live in India, and wish to become a game designer by profession.
There are not many institutes in India which offer any course for game designing and cannot afford to go out of country for further education.

I have shortlisted an institute in India, this is its website http://icat.ac.in/

it offers a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) In Digital Media (Game Design) for further info check http://icat.ac.in/ug11_game_design.asp

please advice to what i must do

than you

Honestly, it looks like junk. It doesn't teach you anything about game design despite the name. It looks like it mainly focuses on Art with 'some' programming. The course doesn't look focused enough to effective teach you to the level needed for the industry in any area.

Edit: Scratch that. The Art modules do look reasonably substantial to get in the industry as an Artist as long as you also apply yourself in your spare time.

Read the Sloperama FAQs and GameCareerGuide articles:

Game design is one of the hardest areas to break into from a graduate standpoint. It is possible but very rare. It may be better to break into the industry via a different area that you enjoy (Art, Programming, Audio?) and move sideways to design when you gain some experience.
