Default Java to C++ game developer? Help please

Currently, I'm doing a computing course, 1st year, but I am thinking of changing to Computer science on the third year. Right now , Java is the programming language that is taught in my class. I have search the internet and found that Java is not used in almost all the game engines. There's only C++ for game programming. I was thinking of doing a Master's in game developing after completing Bachelor in Computing/Computer Science. But , Since I'm learning java right now , how could I jump to game development programs. Is there any solutions for me? Also, I want don't want to hamper my scope for doing software development and other various fields at computer research by just targeting Game development studies. How could I schedule my studies plan? Please help..
