I am not doing it for commercial purposes, but for a portfolio piece. I have made this game with a spin-off of mario and contra. Being a programmer, I lack art assets in the game.
If you are willing to make a background / world tile sheet / player/ enemy spritesheet.. Please leave a message here or PM me. There are no monetary benefits out of this, but I will credit you for the sound assets and your name would go wherever this game is hosted. I don't have issues in sharing the game, if you want to host it under your portfolio(for assets-showcase). Brief description of the game (it plays like a 2D-side scrolling adventure game, mario): " There is a fat caveman stuck in the jungle, amidst all these animals, and is trying to find his way out. On his way, he has these pickups which he can use to his advantage. Pickups being: a healthpack, shield, gun, ammo-pack, coins(100 coins = 1+ life). If he succesfully reaches the end of the jungle, the player wins" It is my first game all-programmed by myself (yes, I had some people mentored me when I was stuck in some places..thanks Claxon!)..but I want to show my programming skills, and that is what it is. But, I started of with the opinion of making a complete product. And, what complete game has no sound effects ? So, please let me know if you have any questions/concerns.. Thanks |

Do you have a working demo to show off? Artists will probably want to know what they will be working on before deciding to do so.

I have programmed all the elements. I am trying to define a level, but I need a tilesheet for that
. If you guys want, I can give you an idea of the different types of enemies and the way they operate. Please let me know. |

Have you considered using free sprites? I know at least of one set over at LostGarden, but I'm sure there are others.

Can you draw up an example so he can see your art style? Maybe create a 2D sprite of the fat caveman or a jungle animal so he knows exactly what you can create.
(Or post previous work with sprites, but I don't think you have that experience). |

Can do, though I'm flexable on style. Any thoughts on where you wanted to take this in terms of style BrainyDexter or am I free to experiment? Are there ideas of sprite sizes, just so I've got an idea of the level of detail you were aiming for?
As said before I don't have any spriting experience but more than willing to give it a crack. |
