Default East-Side GDC?

I knew I should have made the move to Cali years ago... but I'm currently stuck in Ohio (hoping to move to NC soon). Is there any equivalent of GDC or any other worthwhile game developer-oriented conferences on the eastern border of the US?

Thanks for your thoughts!

jwalters,
This is the only one I've seen that is on the east coast and equivalent to GDC. It is in Georgia and only a couple of years old. Check it out here. http://www.siegecon.net/SIEGE2009/

O-H-!!!... um, yeah, you (former) Ohioans get it ;P
I don't blame you Zooch... it's too friggin cold up here!

Thanks for the link, LadyAurora! I'm excited to see we have a GDC-like conference this side of the US, and even better one I might actually be able to attend. I think I read somewhere that China has their CGDC soon as well, but there's no way I'm making that trip.

Grant, thanks for the tips on your website... perhaps I can put some in practice at Siege or take the trip to CA next year...

There is a Game Industry Summit in Philadelphia this October. And the best news is, the organizers need volunteers, so you could get into it for free.

If you do apply to volunteer, specify that you are interested in the Industry Summit.

What Jill said, also PAX is coming to Boston, next year I think? Not exactly a professional type conference but no doubt you'll meet tons of developers, local or not.
