The next annual Global Games Jam is scheduled for January 29th-31st. There are now 125 locations worldwide and this number continues to grow. This is an excellent experience to just go ahead and spend a weekend making a game with some friends, or with some new friends you meet there. I'd wholeheartedly reccomend the experience to anyone interested in games development. You can register through their website and then sign-up to a local location. Many venues are free to attend. Hope you have fun! With Regards, Adrir

They're holding it in Sydney for the first time. Looking forward to it, know we're getting people from all over the place coming over to do it.

Hehe Grant, you're just jealous I posted a link in mine :P JK
But in all seriousness I think there is some confusion as to whether it is required to create a profile on the GGJ site, use the register link on a local site page, or both. Do you veterans know what's required to participate? And does someone contact you to make it official? Also, I have a friend who wants to do game audio but says his equipment isn't portable. Do sites typically provide resources for audiophiles? |

Again, it depends on the site. Each is essentially run by through the good will of hosts and everything can vary.
